Function/Duties of Position

This position is an integral part of the Knight Cardiovascular Institute (KCVI) and is responsible for the accurate and timely submission and reporting of financial related materials. This includes both Clinical and Research functions, as well as actual, budget and forecast.

The Financial Analyst provides global support for all KCVI financial transactions, in addition to reporting and analysis of financial performance. This position also performs financial modeling in support of research, strategic and operational decisions, and provides ad hoc reporting to support both KCVI management and Faculty.

There is the opportunity to telework some of the time.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. If from a related field, candidate must have 18 hours of accounting courses from an accredited college or university
• Minimum of 2 years of professional healthcare and/or relevant financial analysis experience, including analytical, database, spreadsheet and/or quantitative analysis
• General Ledger development and maintenance experience as well as monthly financial statement preparation and analysis
• Forecasting, budgeting preparation, and variance analysis experience
• Experience with grant accounting and reporting
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks at one time
• Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills: both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team while being collaborative in resolving problems
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
• Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
• Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to communicate complex ideas and information, clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of understanding

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Oracle accounting system and fund accounting
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
