Department Overview

The Associate Dean for Graduate Practice and Clinical Programs collaborates with and advises the Dean and other members of leadership team on matters pertaining to the breadth and quality of our graduate practice academic programs, aligning programs with stakeholders, advancing the scholarship of teaching and learning, interpreting and ensuring that programs meet relevant accreditation standards, and measuring the impact of our academic mission. The Associate Dean interfaces with all faculty engaged in the academic mission, including serving as liaison to relevant academic faculty councils and committees. Further, the Associate Dean represents the academic interests of the school at national, regional, and local venues.

The Associate Dean for Graduate Practice and Clinical Programs also oversees opportunities for faculty practice and provides administrative oversight for existing practices.

Function/Duties of Position

KEY RESULT AREAS:

Academic Program Management for Graduate Practice Programs, including:

• Provides oversight of admission and recruitment of students
• Responsible for quality of curriculum and pedagogy

Faculty Practice Management, including:

• Seeks opportunities for practice Development
• Assures quality Improvement and documentation in existing SON practices
• Initiates contracts and monitors budget for SON practices

Program Evaluation and Performance Improvement, including:

• Supervises development of evaluation processes
• Responsible for benchmarking of graduate practice programs
• Assures accreditation compliance and documentation

Human and Fiscal Resource Management, including:

• Responsible for graduate practice faculty recruitment, development and evaluation
• Responsible for budget management and cost analysis of practice graduate programs and faculty practices

Administrative Oversight and Functions, including:

• Provides representation on relevant councils and boards
• Participates in budgeting and forecasting
• Supervises practice graduate faculty and staff

Required Qualifications

• Eligible for licensure as a registered and advanced practice nurse in the State of Oregon
• Earned doctorate in nursing or related field ; eligible for rank at the Associate or Professor level
• Experience in academic administration
• Experience in practice administration
• Experience in program evaluation
• Experience in budget development and management
• Strong leadership and communication skills
