The Nan lab is looking for a motivated individual to join us as a Senior Research Associate (SRA). The SRA will work in the area of single-molecule biophysics, with a particular focus on understanding how Ras and related signaling molecules are regulated in mammalian cells; the work will be conducted in close collaboration with another, senior biologist in the lab. The primary research tools include superresolution imaging and single-molecule tracking, incorporating our most recent and exciting advances in sample preparation, imaging, and image analysis.
The candidate is expected to have a background in biophysics with expertise in single-molecule imaging and/or high-resolution light microscopy, optical and/or electronic instrumentation, data analysis, and basic biology training. Upon arrival, the candidate will be further trained on cell / cancer biology and/or SRM as needed.
PhD in a field of study related to the research; OR Master's Degree in relevant field and 5 years of relevant work experience; OR Bachelor's Degree 9 years of relevant work experience
Experience with optics and electronic instrumentation
Strong expertise in biological image acquisition and image analysis
PhD in (bio)physics, biomedical engineering, or bioengineering
3+ years of research experience in related fields
Prior training in single-molecule biophysics and/or superresolution microscopy
