1) This role is to design, develop, and implement semantic data annotation, integration, and search technologies in the context of the Center for Cancer Data Harmonization and the PCDC cloud compute environment.Â
2) Applies research principles and relevant subject matter knowledge relevant to administer a research project. With a moderate level of direction, manages lab and/or research-related duties and tasks. Helps develop, design and conduct research projects according to plan.
3) Supports data collection and analytical needs of research projects. Conducts literature reviews and helps write reports and manuscripts. Ensures project compliance with different policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.
4) Takes responsibility for the following non-laboratory duties: transcribing and coding data; researching and applying data tabulation standards; and presenting research. Acquires higher-level skills and knowledge in the process.
5) Collaborates with consortium groups and other stakeholders to lead development and implementation of data standards for pediatric cancer types.
6) Assists on grants, when necessary, specifically to develop standard terminologies and data models to connect cancer data and create a robust cancer data ecosystem. This includes work on genomics, proteomics, canine cancer, and imaging data.
7) Works closely with National Cancer Institute as necessary to develop and apply additional terminology and/or common data elements for pediatric cancer data.
1) Knowledge of biomedical ontologies (SNOMED CT, NCIt, etc.).
2) Understanding of clinical trial and electronic health record data processes and data flow.
3) Knowledge of biomedical common data models (FHIR, BRIDG, SDTM, OMOP, PCORNet, etc.)
4) Excellent communication, time management / organization, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
5) Ability to facilitate group decision-making processes and foster an environment of healthy team debate and collaboration.
6) Generalist with wide breadth of skills in software development (system architecture, design, and implementation)
7) Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
8) Experience with multiple computing languages, ideally including Python, and R.
9) Experience with Drupal CMS
10) Knowledge of JSON-LD, YAML, and other data dissemination formats
11) DevOps familiarity.
12) Working knowledge of AWS, Google Cloud, Docker, Jenkins, Travis, Kubernetes
13) Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
14) Demonstrated expertise with virtual collaboration tools, including GSuite, Slack, Twitter, web conferencing tools (Skype, WebEx, Zoom), cloud storage services (Box, Dropbox, Google Drive), and Git/GitHub.

1) Â Experience with programming in healthcare industry, healthcare IT, or data governance (security, privacy, compliance).
