MINIMUM/MANDATORY EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Thorough technical knowledge related to instructional area.
Automotive Service Technology assistants should be well versed in basic maintenance procedures, lube, oil, filters, brake service, cooling systems, lighting, starting, and charging systems. Auto Body Collision Repair & Refinishing Technology assistants should be experienced in all phases of collision repair, and more specifically auto restoration practices. Patch panels, welding, rust repair, metal forming, plastic fillers, paint prep and application may all be needed as student work through their projects. Familiarity with the spray booths and arrestor banks a plus. Some knowledge of environmental guidelines preferred, as well as hazardous material handling and disposal methods used by the Department. Knowledge of all areas must be equivalent to: High school plus two years' specialized training. Any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.
