Unique opportunity for RN's to provide IV Therapy to patients in their home environment. You will work as part of a team with a pharmacist and physician to develop therapy plans for individuals requiring home infusion. Self-scheduling is available, with either 8 or 10 hour shifts available within the core hours of 8:30 - 9:30pm; with the highest work volume between 3-7pm.
The OHSU registered nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities and patient populations. The RNs care delivery is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics and meets the standards/expectations of a Professional Practice Model. In that model, the RN demonstrates the professional role obligations of scientist, leader, practitioner, and knowledge transferor.
Professional accountability enriches the RNs engagement as a leader in promoting an inter-professional culture of collaborative decision-making, innovation, life-long learning, and teamwork.
The nurse in this position will provide comprehensive care to home infusion patients in an outpatient setting, including, but not limited to, the administration of antibiotics, immunologics, TPN, chemotherapy, and supportive care. The RN will be required to travel to the patients home and provide infusion therapy for patients. The nurse will be assigned to coordinate care and ensure the patient and family are receiving OHSUs highest quality of nursing care. This nurse should be available to work Monday through Friday and be available to be on call.
External applicants: BSN Degree from an accredited program
Internal applicants: Associate's Degree in Nursing
Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English
Basic computer skills including the ability to send/receive email, navigate information technology associated with the position, and use Electronic Health Record information and tools
Minimum one year of nursing experience in Home Infusion, Ambulatory Infusion Center, or Home Heath
Current unencumbered Oregon RN and WA licenses (WA within 30 days of hire)
Certification in Basic Life Support
Valid drivers license
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
