Applications are invited for an Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor tenure-track eligible medical oncology position with a focus on cancer of the lung and/or head and neck at the Knight Cancer Institute of Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, OR. Successful candidates will have a clinical and/or laboratory-based research focus and a strong track record of external funding and publications, commensurate with experience. They should have the ability to work across disciplines in an integrative fashion.

The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the universitys missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
The duties of this position are in support of the missions, goals and objectives of OHSU and the School of Medicine and include:
Participate in the education of medical students and house staff in accordance with assignments to the department by the Curriculum Committee and Chair
Care of patients with oncologic disease of the lung and/or head and neck
Establish and maintain a program of scholarly activity directed toward improved understanding of the causes, detection and treatment of oncologic disease
Participate in administrative committees and councils of OHSU as approved by the Chair and Division Head
Engage in public service through consultative activities with non-university groups with knowledge and consent of the Chair and Division Head
It is anticipated this position will be made up of the following components: Clinical, Teaching Research/Academic, and Service. Academic rank will be based on qualifications.
MD or MD/PhD
Licensed to practice medicine in Oregon
Board certified in Internal Medicine
Board eligible/certified in Hematology and or/Medical Oncology
Demonstrated background, focus, and drive to excel, as well as the desire to deliver the best care possible to cancer patient in a clinical research environment
Proven track record of teaching, basic, clinical or population research and excellent patient care
Proven success in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams
History of success in obtaining extramural funds for clinical trials and/or basic science research
