Required: Specialized/technical training Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing Program. Eligibility, as defined by the California Board of Nursing, to have and maintain an RN license.
One (1) year experience in a related healthcare setting required.Â Oncology focus is strongly preferred.
Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read and write English proficiently.
Knowledge of medical procedures and conditions and ability to understand, follow and successfully perform duties, including whole blood collection, and apheresis procedures, in accordance with administrative and clinical policies, regulations and procedures.
Valid California Registered Nursing license.Â
Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider card from the American Heart Association.
ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification required when eligibility criteria have been met. (If no certification upon hire, one must be obtained within one (1) year of hire)
Specialty certification in oncology is preferred.
Fire and Safety Certification.Â If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)Â
As an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to provide therapeutic care to patients and their families in the outpatient setting with an emphasis on administering chemotherapy, biotherapy, blood products.Â The RN is also responsible to manage those patients who require acute careÂ prior to transfer to higher level of care. â
