Eastern Oregon University (EOU) is seeking nominations, applications, and expressions of interest for an Instructor of Health position. The position of Instructor of Health reports directly to the Dean, of the College of Science, Technology, Mathematics, and Health Sciences (STMH).
The Instructor of Health is a full-time, nine-month, fixed-term (non-tenure track) position in the Department of Health & Human Performance. Initial appointment is for one academic year; however, appointment may be extended based on instructor performance and program need.
Candidates should demonstrate their teaching ability in terms of collaborative skills, willingness, and expertise to teach online classes. EOU is particularly interested in applicants who want to assist our students in reaching their academic and professional goals.

The successful candidate’s teaching responsibilities will include on-campus and online courses in the fields of health promotion and health education. Courses may be in the areas of community health/health/PE/nutrition and kinesiology.
• A Master’s Degree in public health or a related field from an accredited institution and possession of qualifications in health promotion, health education and experience in exercise science at the time the appointment begins. • Commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level is required. • Higher education teaching experience in different modalities (live, online). • Valid work authorization documents are required. • Must satisfactorily complete a background and credential check
• Ph.D. in public health, health education or kinesiology or a related field from an accredited institution; candidates nearing completion of their doctorate (ABD) may be considered. • CHES/MCHES certification (or the capability and experience to obtain certification). • An active line of research and scholarly activity.
