Term Assistant/Associate Professor of Computational and Data Sciences

The selected finalist will teach courses in data science, computational science, or computational social science at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will also be expected to significantly contribute to the development of the CDS undergraduate curriculum. Candidates with experience in data visualization and experience in online course design and teaching are particularly encouraged to apply.
The typical teaching load for Term faculty is four courses per semester. The faculty rank for the position will be determined based on the credentials of the selected finalist. The initial appointment will be for one (1) year term with a possibility of future multi-year term appointments. Note: incumbents hired into Term faculty positions are not eligible to apply for tenure.
Candidates must have an earned PhD in computational science, data science, or a related field before the start date of the position;
Experience in R, Python, MATLAB and/or SQL;
Experience teaching courses associated with data science and computational science;
Possess a strong commitment to and demonstrated excellence in teaching.
Experience or ability to teach multiple courses in data science, computational science, and computational social science;
Experience in developing online courses and with management of undergraduate senior projects;
Applicants seeking consideration for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor must also have a proven record of excellence in teaching .
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
