The Part-Time ESL Instructor provides specialized English Literacy instruction in listening, reading, writing and speaking for the purposes of developing the students' ability to acquire the skills necessary for daily living, college and/or employment. Develop curriculum for the ESL program.
*This is a grant-funded position*
Examples of Duties:
Provides ESL instruction at varying skill levels in accordance with approved curriculum and established course outlines.
Provides instruction utilizing computer assisted learning in the lab providing guidance and learning materials.
Participates in curriculum development, the evaluation and revision of courses, course materials, instructional methods
Provides academic instruction based on individual learning plans.
Provides student progress documentation including, but not limited to, attendance, student progress and cumulated program information.
Provides and prepares lessons to assist customers with improving their basic reading, Civics, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
Utilizes contextualized curricula to integrate Digital Literacy, College Readiness, and Career Readiness into the ESL program
Attends staff meetings as scheduled
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree required
NJ Teaching Certification, preferred
Two (2) years teaching experience in English as a Second language.
Proficient with Microsoft Applications
Proven ability to teach a variety of levels within English as a Second Language, to include grammar, writing speaking, listening, vocabulary, and reading.
Experience with computer-assisted learning.
