The College of Business at Oregon State University invites applications for one full-time (1.0FTE), nine-month, tenure-track open rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) Business Analytics professor to begin September 16, 2020.

The essential functions/duties of this position include teaching, research and service activities. Primary teaching responsibilities include delivering an online and hybrid form undergraduate and/or graduate courses (to the audience from Portland, Oregon) in areas such as introduction to Business Analytics, data management, data exploration and/or data/text mining. Research and service emphasis for this position is on using AI or data mining to solve business problems.
The new faculty member is expected to help satisfy the increasing teaching needs and research opportunities in a variety of emerging areas including social media analytics, deep learning applications, and blockchain systems. In particularly, this position will support the college's and the related units' efforts to better meet increasing educational needs from Portland metro area and to expand relationships with local companies for both research and educational programs. The new faculty is expected to be collegial member of the unit and to exhibit a code of behavior appropriate to a professional scholar and educator.
COB academic faculty teaching assignments may include course delivery in any format (ie. In person, online, hybrid).
Typically requires PhD or terminal degree (Masters for some Extension positions and MLS for Library positions), demonstrated ability to teach in a classroom Extension, or other setting, and develop a research program in the academic discipline/unit.
PhD in information systems, computer science, economics, statistics, or related academic fields by start date.
Development of a research program with evidence of or potential for research and scholarly publication in the areas of data analytics.
Demonstrated ability to teach in a classroom and/or online settings.
A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
