The Business Director for the Department of Radiology is responsible for maintaining accounting and financial operations processes and functions, establishing financial objectives in accordance with the department’s operational and strategic plans and reporting/monitoring/explaining results and variations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the accounting functions of the department in an ethical and compliant manner, processing accounts payable, providing financial statements and financial reporting, establishing and communicating policy, and financial analysis of potential projects.
Works with the department and Executive Director to plan and develop the capital equipment, operations and personnel budgets.� Administers and monitors defined budgets by regularly reviewing expenses, investigating variances and taking corrective action as necessary.
Works with the department Executive Director to plan and develop the Strategic Plan.
Leadership of departmental meetings to review results, budgets and plans and highlight concerns.��������
Performs financial review and analysis, reimbursement analysis and budget development and analysis.� Assists the department leadership in establishing business plans.
Ensures effective and efficient office procedures by monitoring and evaluating progress and service of operations.� Supervises staff by orienting, training, providing performance feedback and completing performance evaluations.
Manage staff to maximize their contribution.� Delegate appropriately, maintain optimal morale, utilize staff capabilities, develop staff’s skills.
Development of relationships and tools for assistance to section/lab chiefs and division heads in developing financial plans and managing/monitoring their groups.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field required.
5 to 7 years of experience in management/supervision of personnel/finance.
CPA or MBA preferred.
Ability to plan, organize, meet deadlines, direct people, control resources, ensure ethical financial management in compliance with University policy and relevant regulations and think creatively.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
In depth knowledge of finance, accounting, financial projections and proformas including excel and/or tableau and human resources.
Ability to work effectively with a broad range of faculty, staff, students and medical school administrative staff.
Ability to communicate effectively to Chair and senior departmental leadership and run meetings.
This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week.

The hiring range for this position is $78,874 - $104,499 annually.
