Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) - Pathology, Memphis - 19000000T6
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is seeking applicants for a full-time (non-tenure track) Assistant Professor position within the Department of Pathology. The position is located at UTHSC Memphis and LeBonheur Children's Hospital.
Overseeing diagnostic activities
Execution and development of testing modalities
Assisting in the interpretation of molecular genetic testing
Serving as a consultant to the MLH physician community
The incumbent will also supervise medical technologists in the performance of clinical molecular genetic diagnostic tests, in troubleshooting these procedures, and in assuring quality control and quality assurance aspects of testing.
Experience in teaching and supervising personnel
Must meet the criteria for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, non-tenure track.
Board eligible or certified candidates in Clinical Molecular Genetics by the ABMGG.
Additional ABMGG board certification or eligibility in Clinical Cytogenetics is encouraged but not required.
Experience in clinical molecular genetic testing by PCR, direct DNA sequencing and Next Generation Sequencing for inherited disorders and neoplastic diseases.
Working knowledge of NGS clinical testing including variant annotation and clinical interpretation is required.
