The Head Maintenance Mechanic supports UPL in their continuing effort to provide outstanding guest service and improve operational efficiencies. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong sense of initiative and possess exceptional problem solving,communication and customer service skills and have the ability to work safely in the presence of the public while maintaining a professional attitude and presentation as well as a safe, orderly and clean worksite to limit impacts to guests.They will be highly organized, result oriented and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.
The Head Maintenance Mechanic will report to the FPM Zone Maintenance Supervisor and take daily direction from UPL's General Manager and Assistant General Manager to ensure consistent and strong guest satisfaction. The Head Maintenance mechanic will lead a team of two maintenance professionals (General Maintenance Mechanic and a Trades Maintenance Worker 2), directing work to achieve both timely responses to UPL management requests and steady execution of FPM preventive maintenance plan . This position will interact in a courteous manner with all guests, responding professionally to any questions and complaints and will maintain a daily log for UPL Management and FPM Maintenance personnel to facilitate coordination and prioritization of work.
The Head Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for timely execution of projects and/or coordination of skilled/journey-level tradespeople and manual/semiskilled workers in the maintenance and repair of university buildings, equipment, and grounds. They will also perform skilled journey-level work in the maintenance and repair of machinery and building systems operation. Duties may include but are not limited to: *General repair/maintenance of supply fans, HVAC, boilers, mechanical building systems and refrigerations systems. *Maintain and repair pool and commercial kitchen equipment. *Perform general room maintenance such as unclogging drains, plunging toilets, repairing leaks, changing light bulbs etc. *Train and supervise student employees *Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) *Monitor and respond to work requests delivered via smart phone,email and radio
This position is considered essential personnel and is required to respond during inclement weather event and campus emergencies. Work Schedule: 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday – Friday
- Experience using manual and power tools to perform work. - Proven ability to perform work in a professional customer service manner. - Proven ability to communicate effectively with the diverse campus community and staff in the performance of work. - Must be willing and able to use CMMS (AiM) and mobile electronic devices to receive and process work orders from customers and staff. - Must be comfortable with office equipment, including computer terminals, printers, multi-line telephones, fax machines, and copy machines. - Possess a valid driver's license. - Successfully pass a background check.
-Maintenance experience in a hotel, conferencing facility, residential care or educational setting. -Skills in computer technology and database management. -Ability to write clearly and precisely. -Experience troubleshooting and repairing commercial kitchen equipment. -Experience maintaining public pools. -Limited Building Maintenance Electrician license (LBME) -Certified Pool Operator (CPO)
