This role develops, codes, tests, and debugs new software or enhancements to existing software. The Developer typically works with senior staff, but may coordinate smaller or less complex projects independently. Designs and implements basic technical solutions ensuring that business needs and requirements are met. Performs basic system integration tasks. Provides estimation for assigned tasks.
Participates in the development of new goals and strategies based on interactions with primary user.
Develops plans for software deployment on heterogeneous systems.
Collaborates with user to develop work flow and best practices.
Partners with user in designing features for technology.
Responds to customer inquiries via phone, online, in-person, etc.
Creates and maintains code documentation.
Grants system access to new user.
Evaluates feature/upgrade/change requests and recommends action.
Participates in interview process for new hires.
Identifies database and software performance issues, and makes adjustments.
Researches and develops new algorithms and statistical techniques designed for analyzing data based on customer needs.
Develops and maintains software infrastructure, via patches, bundles, releases and maintenance packs.
Codes software applications adhering to designs supporting internal business requirements or external user.
Completes tier 3 troubleshooting.
Designs databases and data structures.
Prioritizes tasks within project.
Meets with business analyst/stakeholder to determine requirements.
Opens tickets with vendors.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as computer science, information technology, or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.

Experience in providing good customer service in software support.
Has excellent technical understanding of interactive web systems and e-commerce solutions. Ability to visualize how technology tools may contribute to the creation of educational solutions for teaching and research purposes.

Preferred Qualifications: (Education and experience)
Minimum 1 year of mobile app development experience on iOS and Android.
Minimum 2 years of experience developing REST APIs, microservices, web services etc. Good understanding of working with and manipulating JSON and XML.
Minimum of 3 years of development experience with SQL in creating views and stored procedures. Development experience using Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL and having good understanding of creating database objects (tables, indexes, triggers, procedures etc), creating and optimizing queries, database sizing and optimization for performance etc.
3 years relevant experience using Windows technologies.
2 years of experience with one or more of the following: PHP, Java, Python and/or Ruby.
2 years of experience with C#, .NET.
2 years of experience with securing and load-balancing web apps by the appropriate use and configuration of web servers (IIS) and reverse proxies (NGINX) etc.
Some experience with Enterprise Web reporting solutions.
Some experience building interfaces between systems using SSIS or similar integration tools.
Experience with all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including business analysis for complex projects.
Demonstrated experience building and publishing native, hybrid, progressive or cross-platform mobile apps for iOS and Android.
Must have the ability to interact with customers and develop/edit simple UI changes in real-time.
Significant coursework in computer systems and systems analysis design preferred.
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
Modern development stacks (Ruby, PHP, Python, NGINX, Node.js, Docker etc).
Demonstrated experience creating complex web-based Internet or intranet systems using either PHP, Python, Ruby, C# and/or .NET. Demonstrated experience building web services, REST APIs etc.
Knowledge of Windows and SQL scripting (Powershell, vbscript, SQLCMD, command-line etc).
Experience with customizing Wordpress.
Understanding of code configuration management, release management (Azure DevOps), test-driven development principles.
