Job Summary The Cai lab specializes in single cell genomics with an emphasis on preserving spatial information in the data. The Statistician/Bioinformatics Scientific Research Assistant's primary responsibility will be to apply statistical and bioinformatics tools to analyze the spatial, single cell, and genomics data using PCA, tSNE, and hidden Markov methods. The successful candidate will also develop a robust software package to analyze single cell data and visualize the spatial arrangement of cells in tissue images. The candidate will collaborate with team members (postdocs and students) to develop the software and interact with users to optimize the analysis and visualization package.
Job Duties - Analyze single cell gene expression data using statistical tools. - Collaborate with postdocs and students in data analysis. - Interact with users to optimize software.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in statistics, computer science, or biology. - Experience with Monte Carlo simulations and other modern statistical tools. - Experience with genomics and bioinformatics. - Demonstrated coding ability in Matlab and Python. - Good communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with single cell analysis. - PCA and tSNE analysis. - Experience with machine learning and dimensional reduction algorithms.
