Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience IRB administration; or Master's degree with 3 years of experience.
Working knowledge of human subjects research regulations required.
Experience reviewing IRB submissions.
Proven attention to detail.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Extremely strong communication skills.
Ability to articulate complex regulatory issues to diverse audiences from students to administration.
Experience in presenting or training.
CIP required or willingness to sit for exam within 1 year of hire.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as IRB Administrator. Essential duties includes but not limited to:
Providing supervision to students or staff conducting triage of incoming IRB requests.
Determining level of review.
Reviewing expedited level reviews in conjunction with IRB Chair.
Preparing for IRB meetings; conduct post-meeting/post-review responsibilities.
Conducting post approval monitoring program.
Investigating allegations of noncompliance.
Assisting researchers with the IRB process.
Assisting the Director with development and communication of policy, procedures, and guidelines for HRPP.
Ensuring accurate and comprehensive records are maintained for the Human Research Protections Program.
Performing training, outreach and other duties as assigned in support of the education and monitoring of the HRPP.
Developing reports and assist the Director with data management and improvement projects.
Ensuring accurate and appropriate records are maintained for the human subjects protections program.
Providing guidance and direction to Office Staff when appropriate.
Serving as alternate voting member on IRB.
Serving as contact for Research Protections Office in Director's absence.
Master’s degree preferred.
Certified IRB Professional certification.
3 years minimum in an IRB Office with similar responsibilities.
