Position Summary The Lundquist College of Business Graduate Programs Office is seeking a Graduate Programs Student Recruiter to, under the direction of the Director of Recruiting and Admissions, MBA & MSF, interface with potential students through the selection and admission process of the program. This position holds the following major responsibilities: develop and generate student leads for graduate programs in Eugene through various venues; face to face, phone, on-line and on and off campus events, as well as provide counseling on program attributes.
Duties include participation in the admission and application process by conducting interviews, review applications and supporting materials while understanding the requirements in order to evaluate all application components to render an admission decision and/or scholarship award; monitor application progress from start to completion and assist in identifying and resolving issues; review and evaluate data throughout the admission process to provide weekly, monthly and yearly reporting. Conduct internal meetings with key stakeholders on applicants and applicant pool; coordinate and assist in creating internal and external communications to new student leads, prospective students and admitted students; and resolve problems as needed.
This position requires extensive domestic and occasional international travel to recruiting events, frequently held evenings and weekends. When not traveling, office hours are 8:00AM-5:00PM, Mon-Fri.
Minimum Requirements • Bachelor's degree. • Two years of recruitment, admission or sales experience.
This position must be able to work occasional nights and/or weekends to fulfill special projects and events.
Professional Competencies • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with prospective students from a variety of backgrounds. • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills. • Ease in using technology for communication, record keeping, and management of data.
Preferred Qualifications • Demonstrated knowledge of recruitment and admissions at an accredited college or university. • Knowledge of international student perspectives and needs. • Experience: applying marketing/selling techniques and methods; designing promotional presentation materials and giving public presentations; planning and directing promotion activities; creating student admissions activity reports; analyzing data to make informed recruitment decisions; working in a higher education setting with diverse populations and cultures; use of the Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); CRM systems such as PeopleSoft and Salesforce.
