Chemeketa Community College welcomes applications for a full-time Student Accounts Technician
Residing in the Business Services department, this half-time student accounts technician position provides excellent accounting and student support, technical knowledge, and customer service to students, vendors and staff. This position focuses on student account sponsorships and exemptions and acts as the college liaison with outside agencies and staff regarding payment of student tuition and fees. As a member of the Accounts Receivable team, this position will help facilitate the collection of outstanding receivables by contacting students and agencies, submitting accounts to external collection agencies, and processing follow-up transactions. This position interacts with students, college departments and agencies with regards to student receivable transactions and payment activity. The anticipated work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, but may also require additional hours during peak times.

Associate's Degree from an accredited institution -AND- One year of full-time financial services/support experience –or- one year of full-time equivalent experience working with student accounts
High School Diploma/General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) -AND- Three years of full-time financial services/support experience –or- three years of full-time equivalent experience working with student accounts
Knowledge of applicable local, State and Federal laws/regulations (e.g. FERPA, Collections Law)
Excellent oral and written communication
Interpersonal/customer service skills resulting in positive interactions with coworkers, students, and public
Experience using computers and applicable software – Word, Excel, Gmail, mainframe systems, databases
Abilities to effectively work within a team
Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize
Student accounts experience in a Higher Education Environment
General accounting coursework
Experience using Ellucian's Banner software
Experience working with delinquent accounts
