Under the guidance of the Director of the Systems of Care Institute, the Instructional Training & Consultation Specialist will develop and deliver Wraparound and System of Care trainings, coaching, consultation, and technical assistance to a variety of programs, system partners, and agencies across the state of Oregon and in other contracted states. This position will use subject matter expertise, technical assistance strategies, and data to inform, develop and reﬁne curriculum and training materials for the Systems of Care Institute. This position provides consultation and training across a variety of youth serving systems including mental health, child welfare and community based programs. This position supports ongoing innovation of workforce development in response to new projects, best practices, and policy and practice changes. The Instructional Training & Consultation Specialist will assist a variety of providers in effective utilization of tools and system approaches such as Wraparound, Systems of Care, and meaningful use of quality assurance and ﬁdelity tools. The Instructional Training & Consultation Specialist has a responsibility to participate in organizational training needs assessments and comprehensive program evaluation. The Instructional Training & Consultation Specialist will have a primary work site at the Portland State University campus in downtown Portland, Oregon. In and out of state travel is possible and required.
Bachelors degree with 3+years experience, or Master's with 1+ years of experience as a trainer which includes responsibility for assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating training needs in an organization
At least two years' experience in Wraparound and Systems of Care in youth serving systems.
Demonstrated, strong facilitation skills.
Demonstrated capacity to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with a drive to contribute high quality, original work.
An MSW or Master's Degree in a related ﬁeld.
Demonstrated experience in providing training, coaching, consulting and/or technical assistance on Wraparound, Systems of Care, youth development, workforce development, or building collective impact within systems.
Demonstrated capacity to build strong external and internal relationships, think strategically, and communicate effectively.
Demonstrated commitment to advance anti-racist work with communities.
Experience working with marginalized and underrepresented communities.
Strong conﬂict resolution skills.
Demonstrated experience adapting to an environment with shifting needs and focus depending on the day.
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to handle diﬃcult or sensitive conversations with empathy and composure.
Strong knowledge of Trauma Informed Care.
Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing demands.
Experience with Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) tool and CANS rater certiﬁed.
