The PSUMSW Program is ranked among the top 25% of all social work programs nationally, offering the MSW program in 5 different locations (Portland, Salem, Eugene, Southern Oregon, Central Oregon) and Online.
Instructors who demonstrate an interest in and ability to realize the mission, values, and vision of the School are strongly encouraged to apply, particularly those with knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to racial equity and critical, anti-oppressive, and social justice-oriented frameworks. Each academic year, there is a need to hire adjunct faculty to teach. While there is no guarantee that a course you are interested and qualified to teach will be seeking additional instructors, qualified instructors are frequently hired to teach the following courses in most locations.
Advanced Year Practice Courses – (Requires MSW and 2 years post-MSW practice experience, additional requirements as noted)
Clinical Social Work Practice (SW 533, SW 534, and SW 535) (Portland, Salem, Eugene, Southern Oregon, Central Oregon) (experience in adult mental health practice) Practice and Leadership with Communities and Organizations (SW 593, SW 594, and SW 595) (Portland, Online) (experience in community and organizational practice) Social Work with Children, Youth, and Families (SW 586, SW 587, and SW 588) (Portland) (experience in child, youth, and family practice) Health Across the Lifespan (SW 517, SW 518, and SW 5 9) (Portland, Online) (experience in aging and/or healthcare practice) SW 512 – Faculty Advisor/Liaison (all options) (Requires previous Field Instruction)
M.S. or M.A. in Social Work (or closely related field), and as noted above.
Previous graduate teaching experience. Prefer experience with online instruction for faculty interested in teaching online
