Define project objectives and metrics to be tracked for all projects assigned to the Project Team. Measure performance criteria and coach Project Team. Create a positive work environment for the project team and build high morale and teamwork.
Manage Project Team staff, including assignment of work, development and review of responsibilities and goals, internal employee reviews, and disciplinary actions as necessary. Ensure standards are set and adhered to.
Mentor Project Team staff, developing professional development goals and training opportunities to promote honing skills for maximum efficiency in OHSU construction projects.
Supervisory duties to include recruitment, selection, and hiring when needed. Provide ongoing training and coaching, write performance appraisals and position descriptions, approve leave time, assign and approve work, support professional growth, manage team and individual development plans, and perform disciplinary actions for 3-5 employees.
Move and Interiors Programs Development and Initiatives
Building on existing standards, develop material, finish, and furniture standards for the healthcare and academic missions that meet the University\u2019s criteria including health and sustainability.
Assess the five programs and prioritize, plan and execute initiatives to develop, document and communicate standards and processes.
Establish and maintain vendor relationships and internal stakeholder partnerships. Review vendors, products, and services to assure the best value for OHSU. Review existing contracts and issue RFPs as needed for competitive selection.
Collaborate with other Project Team Managers, Business Manager, Contracts Administrator, and Director of Design & Construction to review, revise and develop Project Management policies, procedures, methodologies and tools as necessary.
Participate in department Leadership Team meetings and initiatives. Coordinate project and department activities with other managers.
Manage Team meetings and advise director on any issues, review reports, discuss preparation of GROW performance evaluations, and department goals.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Working Conditions: Work locations will vary, including academic, research, and hospital environments both on and off campus. Travel may be required. Environmental exposures vary considerably between interior climate controlled environments to open exterior environments. Either environment may be exposed to inclement weather, uneven ground and work surfaces, noise, wind, heights, confined spaces and various other construction site conditions
