The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university\u2019s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.

The division head has overall responsibility for providing strategic direction and effective leadership to the division, while advancing the clinical, educational, and research missions of the School of Medicine. The division head will be expected to grow and develop the division\u2019s research enterprise, with a specific focus on physician-scientists, in addition to sustaining and growing the existing comprehensive clinical and educational programs. The division head will also work closely with the Chair and the clinical enterprise to develop and implement innovative models of high value clinical care, in accordance with our mission to improve the health of the population of the state of Oregon.
The division head will have substantial experience in research, clinical care, education, and administrative leadership. Division head will have a demonstrated ability to maintain an externally funded research program and the ability to nurture younger physician-scientists. Experience in interdisciplinary translational research and/or scholarly experience in areas related to global health is preferred.
